I don’t believe that “human cannonball” is currently an approved activity in the BSA Guide to Safe Scouting.  But a hundred years ago, these Scouts were apparently preparing to shoot one of their number (or at least pretending to) from a cannon at Fort Independence, Massachusetts.  The photo appeared in the December 1914 issue of Boys’ Life.
