This picture of the HCJB transmitter site at Pifo, Ecuador, appeared in the May 1959 issue of Popular Electronics. The magazine noted that the station was currently capable of transmitting on a single shortwave frequency with 50,000 watts, but would soon have the capability of transmitting on two frequencies simultaneously at 30,000 watts each.
