Doing remote broadcasts eighty years ago wasn’t a problem for WFAA Dallas, as shown by this photo from the July 1938 issue of Rural Radio magazine.  Newsman Earl Kalusche is shown wearing the station’s pack transmitter, which allowed him to “wander about to describe interesting events.”
